Why doing this on regular walks helps me make better decisions
I know what it’s like to regret making a poor decision.
Poor decisions can change the entire trajectory of our lives.
We can pursue a goal for a 14 months and realise it wasn’t the way.
We can lose people dear to us thanks to hastily made decisions.
We’ve also all heard of the benefits of being active and walking.
This is why I often use my daily walk as a way to come to clear conclusions and solutions to problems I’m grappling with.
Walks help with this because their mindful nature allow my thoughts to settle. The motion helps with this, as do the feel-good chemicals smacking my brain.
When our thoughts are settled, we’re more intelligent.
We’re in touch with an inner intelligence that appears when we’re not overly emotional or stressed.
This is why walks can be your most powerful decision-making tool.
(Or decision-avoidance tool for those bad decisions).
When I head out for my daily walk, I often ask:
‘What’s a challenge I’m having today that I could use a solution for?’
