Set yourself apart with a skill most people suck at
Do you notice yourself getting more easily frustrated when things take time?
I have felt this shift in myself, and I see it in others.
We’re spoiled.
We live in an Uber Eats world, where everything is expected to be fast, piping hot and delivered to our door.
The Internet has made us frantic little Rush Beavers who can’t wait for anything.
And this affects our lives in subtle ways:
• Rushed communication where we don’t listen.
• We give up projects faster when things don’t go to plan.
• Our stress levels increase because we want things NOW.
One of my big philosophies for success has always been to do what few people are doing.
If you do what everyone else does, you’re now competing with the impatient masses.
It’s harder to succeed here because everyone is running towards the fast and easy stuff.
And often that trail just ends in a pit, piling up lazy bodies.
That’s why, to set yourself apart, you must cultivate that rather dry and uninteresting concept of patience in you.
