The modern age is cool, isn’t it?
But with all its glitz comes added challenges.
Like having our minds fried by various forms of dopamine escapes on the daily.
Binging Netflix. Video games. Screens. More screens.
Screens.
But we allow these distractions in, not because we need more entertainment, but because we lack purpose.
I found this out the hard way many times.
My mood would be low, and I’d make little progress.
I continued to escape to colourful, shiny stuff that made me think I was making progress — but all that happened was the day grew dark.
Until I made stronger, more emotional commitments.
I found consistency came easier. People started asking me to do more interviews.
I got clear on WHO I most wanted to help with the unique array of skills and experiences I could help with.
Then, I became clear on how this would positively impact the world.
Kapow.
Now I could see, in very tangible terms, how my work was contributing to a better world.
Sounds tasty, right?
