Instead of making a drastic change when you are not feeling it, do this…
It’s easy to feel bored with life and say something like:
‘I need a big change.’
‘I should go travel for 9 months to find myself.’
‘I should just buy a van and live out of it with my pet chihuahua.’
These are all exciting ideas.
They pump the adrenaline.
They seem to be the solution to one’s malaise.
But now you’re introducing new complexities while ending any momentum you had before.
Nine times out of ten, the solution isn’t to burn bridges and start fresh.
It’s to keep going.
It’s to remind yourself what those small but significant daily actions that you are stringing together are.
The picture is forming, but you may not see it just yet.
But do you have faith in the process or not?
Keep it simple.
Be willing to do what seems inconsequential and a little dull.
Small, repeated steps.
Day after day.
Do it while everyone else is partying.
