We can come up with various creative reasons why people don’t see success the way they want.

We create excuses for ourselves too.

‘I suppose I’m just not cut out for that kind of work. I’m just not that kind of person,’ we croon.

But we need to remember the very basics of what making progress really comprises. The bare bones stuff.

And that’s spending time doing the thing.

It’s basic physics, really. The more time and attention we give to any one thing, the better we get and the more that thing benefits from our time spent with it.

Want to be a successful author who writes excellent books?

Spend more time writing books.

Simple.

Want to be a world-class dancer?

Spend more time dancing.

Not talking about dancing, not thinking about dancing, not watching videos on dancing.

Dancing.
