How to stop feeling like you’re ‘in your head’ all the time

I’ve always been the ‘in your head’ guy.

It likely stems from wanting to do a good job at everything and hating the idea of failure.

So, I overanalyse and obsess about things that many would gloss over.

And this increases the volume of my thoughts, making me more stressed and agitated.

I recognised this as an issue some time ago and spent a long time figuring out how to chill out more.

When I did, I was surprised by how my life transformed.

I don’t always remember to follow my advice, but when I do, damn. Things change, noticeably.

Here’s what I’d say to anyone struggling with the same:

There is tremendous relief in resisting less.

It is not life that is challenging. Really. This is an illusion.

It is your resistance to life that makes it seem hard.

It’s like pressing against a balloon, trying to keep it underwater. Eventually, it needs to bounce upward. Same with how you resist life.

Resistance is a bundle of judgey thoughts. You don’t need to judge.
