Don’t confuse your self-worth with your lack of experience

Many people — including me in the past — have tried things only to take the experience of failing personally.

We ‘failed,’ and made it about us.

Maybe they didn’t get the results they had in their heads.

Maybe they ‘bombed’ on stage (been there).

Maybe they didn’t get enough engagement in their posts (waves hand enthusiastically).

So we made it about us.

But it’s not about you or how ‘worthy’ you are.

That’s your ego getting in the way, trying to protect your scaredy cat butt.

It’s not about you.

It’s about the time, practice, and attention you put into it.

These are two entirely separate things.

And don’t tell me the one about the 3-foot-high man who dreamed of playing in the NBA.

Some things are out of one’s control, and biology can get in the way. Yes. You can see that. You’re not dumb.

But for most things, there are ways through.

Who knows, maybe even the short dude can find a way to contribute to the team with practice and finding his superpower.
