14 ways to diminish that heavy feeling of blearghh

I know it.

It’s like you just don’t really want to do anything.

Everything feels heavier, like trying to play ping-pong underwater.

Here’s what I do to feel this less:

  • Take a nap.
  • Avoid refined carbs, sugar, and starches. Go higher protein.
  • Go for at least a 20 minute walk.
  • Replace consumption with creating things, anything — even if it’s doodling or taking notes. Watching screens, playing highly stimulating games, and movies numbs you of your motivation.
  • Sit in the sunlight like cats do.
  • Meditate or sit in silence, watching your emotions. As you observe, you’ll find your frustrations melt away.
  • Do some stretching or exercise.
  • Hydrate with electrolytes. Coconut water is king here.
  • Do one small, easy part of something you’ve been holding off. This recreates your identity of a doer.
  • Do not watch porn ever again.
  • Be more consistent. Most people are dragged in a thousand directions and then wonder why they don’t get anywhere and accumulate any wins. Focus on fewer things and do the right things day after day. Over time, you’ll see…
