12 far-out ideas for writing articles or newsletters that turn heads

A lot of content today is like old toast.

Technically edible. But no one’s excited to bite into it.

That’s because most people write with one eye on what’s safe, sensible, or ‘on brand,’ and the other on what everyone else is already doing.

Welcome to Yawn Central, population: every last asshole.

We’re not here for that. We want to attract other crazies to our tribe.

If you want to create a body of work that turns heads and sticks in brains, you must be willing to do what it takes.

You don’t need to be obnoxious (I already have that covered).

But you need to be excited about finding creative ways to stand out.

This is also an important reminder for me, because I can get into ruts with writing too.

Here are 13 ideas to help you write articles or newsletters that stop people mid-scroll:

1. Say what no one else is willing to say.

Start with the question: ‘What is a solution to a problem no one is talking about?’

Or: ‘What’s true that few agree with me on?’
